A Story Rooted in American Whiskey History
Jack Daniel founded his distillery in 1866, at just 16 years old, unknowingly laying the foundations for what would become one of the most iconic whiskey brands in the world. Alongside Nearest Green and his sons, Jack refined the charcoal mellowing process, defining the unique identity of Tennessee whiskey.
Following Jack’s death in 1911, the distillery passed to his nephew Lem Motlow, who continued the brand’s unstoppable expansion. Master Distiller No. 4 stands as a tribute to this pivotal era and to the individuals who carried the legacy forward.
