Quinta da Furada Pata D'Urso Branco 2019

The Pata D'Urso Branco 2019 is a remarkable white wine from the Douro Valley, crafted by Quinta da Furada. Sourced from ancient and rare grape varieties planted in schist soils at varying altitudes and exposures, this wine reflects the unique terroir of the region.

The 2019 vintage was characterized by significant temperature fluctuations and lower-than-average annual rainfall, despite high precipitation levels in April. To prevent over-ripening of the white grape varieties, the harvest commenced on August 29, 2019. The grapes were manually harvested, carefully selected, destemmed, and gently pressed. The must underwent cold decantation for 24 hours before fermenting in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Subsequently, part of the wine aged in 600-liter used French oak barrels, while the remainder matured in stainless steel. 

 

Tasting Notes:

This wine exhibits a complex and mineral aroma, revealing tropical fruits and a subtle toasted note that adds elegance. On the palate, it presents well-ripened fruit reminiscent of banana, offering a voluminous and polished mouthfeel. Its natural acidity ensures a long, balanced, and persistent finish.

    Pata D`Urso Branco 2020 – Castas Autóctones

    VINIFICAÇÃO
    Ano chuvoso até ao mês de Maio, seguido de um período muito seco e quente, originando quebras de
    produção, assim como alguma desidratação nas uvas mais expostas. Alguma chuva no final de Agosto
    veio acelerar a maturação das uvas.
    Vindima manual com escolha dos melhores cachos na vinha. As uvas foram esmagadas e desengaçadas
    e depois prensadas. Decantação a 10ºC durante 48 horas. Fermentação em cuba inox com temperatura
    controlada a 14ºC. Parte do vinho estagiou em cascos de carvalho durante 9 meses.

    PROVA:
    Cor brilhante. Nariz intenso, com notas de frutos brancos maduros, ligeira madeira.
    Boca ampla e concentrada, mostrando frescura e elegância.
    Final longo, equilibrado e frutado.
