Castrum Roche is the realization of a dream — the dream of Isacco Costamagna, a young winemaker who transformed the vineyards he inherited from his grandparents into a dynamic, artisanal wine project in the prestigious hills of Barolo.
Named after the ancient Latin term for “the country fortress of the Rocche,” Castrum Roche stands on the historic Torriglione cru, facing the world-renowned vineyards of Rocche dell’Annunziata — one of Piemonte’s most iconic terroirs.

The Story Behind the Wine
Isacco’s journey began in 2014 when he planted vines on his grandfather’s land in La Morra, while still a student. After selling his grapes to neighbours from 2017 to 2020, Isacco returned from the University of Turin — where he earned his degree in Viticulture and Oenology — ready to craft his own wines. Thus, Castrum Roche was born.
Today the estate covers around 2 hectares of Nebbiolo, with every step of vineyard and cellar work overseen by Isacco and his family. This Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 stands as a true signature of terroir, youth, and expression — a wine that captures the essence of Barolo country in its earliest form.
