Jean-Marc Sélèque “Quintette” Extra Brut NV — Blanc de Blancs
Jean-Marc Sélèque “Quintette” is a refined and terroir-driven Extra Brut Champagne, crafted exclusively from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The name “Quintette” pays tribute to its origin: a blend of Chardonnay from five distinct parcels in the Marne Valley and Côte des Blancs (Vertus, Dizy, Épernay, Pierry, Mardeuil).
Vinified with great care — partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel, without filtration — and matured on lees for an extended period (often 36–48 months, with inclusion of reserve wines), this cuvée aims to reveal a pure expression of terroir with complexity, minerality, and elegance.
Tasting Profile
Appearance: Pale straw-yellow with subtle golden glints. tannico.it+1
Aroma (Nose): Delicate notes of orchard fruits (pear, green apple), citrus zest, white flowers, almond and hazelnut, with hints of chalky mineral, toast, and soft lees character — a fine balance between freshness and complexity.
Palate (Taste): Medium to full-bodied, with a vibrant and precise acidity, a creamy yet mineral-driven texture, and a saline, chalky finish. Flavours unfold as crisp citrus and orchard fruit, evolving to subtle pastry or brioche touches, finishing long, dry and elegant.
Ideal as:
An aperitif or accompaniment to refined dishes — shellfish, oysters, scallops, light fish, seafood crudo, and delicate seafood preparations. Its minerality and finesse also pair beautifully with white meats or subtle cheeses.
