Head Rock Grande Reserva Tinto 2015

The Head Rock Grande Reserva Tinto 2015 is a distinguished red wine from the Trás-os-Montes region in Portugal, produced by Head Rock Wines. This wine exemplifies the unique terroir of Vidago, a village renowned for its excellent thermal waters and favorable microclimate for viticulture.

Winemaking and Aging
Crafted from traditional Portuguese grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, the grapes underwent fermentation followed by an extended aging period of 16 months in oak barrels. This maturation process imparts complexity and depth to the wine.

Tasting Notes
Color: Deep garnet hue, indicating its richness and concentration.

Aroma: An explosion of ripe black fruit aromas, such as blackberries and plums, accompanied by subtle floral hints. There are also nuances of leather and forest floor, adding complexity.

Palate: Full-bodied with powerful, well-structured tannins. Flavors of mature black fruits dominate, complemented by light balsamic notes and spices resulting from its time in oak barrels. The finish is persistent and harmonious.

Food Pairing
This robust red pairs excellently with smoked meats, aged cheeses, and red meats, particularly Barrosã beef. Its depth and structure complement rich, flavorful dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Serving Recommendations
Temperature: Serve between 16-18°C (60-64°F) to fully appreciate its aromatic profile and structure.

Decanting: Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to breathe and to separate any potential sediment, thereby revealing its full complexity.

The Head Rock Grande Reserva Tinto 2015 stands as a testament to the quality and character of wines from the Trás-os-Montes region, offering a rich and memorable experience for red wine enthusiasts.
